Eskom has announced an extension for customers to upgrade their prepaid electricity metres to comply with the new Key Revision Number 2 (KRN2) standard. This decision comes as part of a nationwide effort to ensure all prepaid metres are updated, especially for those who have not purchased electricity recently, known as ‘zero buyers’. The new deadline allows these customers to avoid disruptions in their electricity supply while also facilitating a smoother transition to the upgraded system.
